German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is laughing at the fact that electricity bills are so expensive in Europe that people can no longer afford to use electric ovens.
As reported in German media, World Economic Forum (WEF) agenda-setter Scholz cheerfully recounted live how a citizen told him they could no longer afford their electric oven.
“The other day, someone came to me and said, ‘Mr. Scholz, I just switched my electric oven to a gas oven,’” Scholz said, before continuing with a grin, “I didn’t know how sad I should look.”
He made the comments on-air Sunday.
Scholz, who leads the left-wing Social Democratic Party, was blasted by the Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CSU) on Twitter.
The CSU called on Scholz to apologize immediately for the gaffe.
“Many people in our country are currently very worried. And what is Chancellor Scholz doing? He laughs about it,” tweeted the CSU.
“That is indecent and shows how indifferent we citizens are to the federal government. We think: Olaf Scholz must apologize!”
