Governor To Sign Firearm Confiscation Bill… Is This Your State?

Connecticut’s lawmakers have just passed legislation permitting law enforcement to seize firearms and ammunition from anyone accused of domestic abuse. The bill is headed to the desk of Gov. Dannel Malloy — and he’s expected to sign it, according to The Connecticut Post. So, if an individual wants someone’s guns taken away, all they have to do is accuse another person of domestic violence. That’s prefect Democrat logic — guilty until proven innocent. Again, the law would require alleged domestic abusers — in most cases, men — to immediately give up their guns if their partners seek restraining orders. Oklahoma Senate Concurs with House: Second Amendment Is Your Open Carry Permit

by AWR Hawkins On April 20, the Oklahoma Senate voted 37-9 to pass legislation recognizing that the Second Amendment is a sufficient open carry permit. The legislation, HB 3098, had already passed in the House by a vote of 73-15. According to News 9, the Senate passed the bill via “a procedural move that forces the bill into conference committee” for one final look before it heads to Governor Mary Fallin (R). Murders Spike in 2015 in Democrat-Run, Gun-Controlled Cities

by AWR Hawkins A study released April 20 by the Brennan Center for Justice shows that the murder rate jumped 13.3 percent in America’s biggest cities during 2015. Three Democrat-run, heavily gun-controlled cities–Baltimore, Chicago, and Washington DC–“account for more than half” of the murder increase, the report admits. Tennessee Senate Passes Campus Carry

by AWR Hawkins On April 19 the Tennessee Senate passed campus carry for public schools colleges and universities. According to the Associated Press, campus carry passed the Senate by a vote of 28-5. The measure allows faculty and staff with concealed carry permits to carry handguns on campus for self-defense. Some professors have already staked their opposition to the measure, promising to quit teaching if it becomes legal to carry a gun for self-defense on campuses in Tennessee.
